Nato Topuria is a long-time friend of Gallery 27, one can say, since its foundation, and at the same time, she is one of the favorite authors. She was born in Tbilisi, in a family of artists. Her mother was a graphic artist, and his father was a sculptor. She started drawing at a very young age, then making toys, and in the 10th grade she created her first sculpture. It is logical that after school, she entered the Faculty of Sculpture at the Tbilisi State Academy, She believes that entering the academy was the most correct and important decision in her life.
Nato today creates graphic works, sculptures and textile toys. Her small brooch dolls are presented in the gallery. In any case, the most important thing for Nato is a positive attitude, everything else is secondary. Her whole house is a workshop and, in addition to creating works, she does a lot of work. She equates textile work with pleasure and relaxation, uses only natural materials and uses mixed techniques (sewing, embroidery, patchwork) to create very distinctive dolls. Her handwriting is easy to read.
Everyone pays attention to the works of Nato in the gallery, visitors of any age want to take them in their hands and look at them. In all of Nato's work, there is a love for the work, she enjoys the whole process - thinking about the idea and the character of the doll, then choosing the fabric, working on the shapes. Often the material itself dictates the author's direction. For Nato, as well as for many artists, the biggest incentive is the attitude of the people around her and the approval of her works.
Nato also works on orders, never created a problem with the customer, everyone is always satisfied with her works.
Nato's creations always put the visitor in a good mood, lions, fairies, rabbits, angels made of fabric are very popular in our gallery, tourists from different countries, regardless of their age, often leave us with new brooches "decorated" and smiling.
